Meet Dr. Pontikas

Dr. Aristidis Pontikas was born and raised in Texas City, Texas, where his parents, who are first-generation Greek immigrants, settled in 1970. Dr. Pontikas, who kept in touch with his cultural roots and is fluent in Greek, is the oldest of three children and proud to be the first dentist and periodontist in the history of his family.

Dr. Pontikas enjoys the challenge of periodontics and places his primary focus on meeting the individual needs of each patient. He is proud to offer his patients both surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatment, periodontal cosmetic surgery, soft tissue grafting, dental implants and sinus augmentation. He strives to understand each patient's desires, circumstances, and needs in order to offer the most effective and innovative treatment available.

Dr. Pontikas completed his dental degree at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Dental Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA. He then completed his periodontal training earning a certificate in periodontal surgery and a master's degree in oral biology at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX.

In addition to maintaining his full-time private practice, Dr. Pontikas is committed to educating tomorrow's dentists and specialists. As part-time faculty at the A.T. Still School of Dental Medicine and Oral Health, he provides hands-on training and guidance to both dental students and residents.
